Farm Sanctuary is an organization that rescues farm animals from being slaughtered. My mom and the mom of one of my classmates used to organize The Walk For Farm Animals in Philadelphia to raise money for Farm Sanctuary. Anyone can visit the farm and volunteer to help out during the day. They have little cabins and tiny houses you can stay in as well. So we decided that we would go to Farm Sanctuary to show our support. We went and visited the animals as well as helped out around the farm.

If you're interested in learning more, you can check out their website farmsanctuary.org You'll find information about how farming practices can be cruel and harm the environment as well as information on becoming vegetarian (I am!).

We saw turkeys, pigs, goats, geese, chickens, sheep, and cows.

One of my favorite parts of this visit was the cows. All of the animals are very peaceful since they don't have to work or worry that they'll be killed for food. There was one very gentle cow that rolled over when I scratched her. We hung out together for a long time.
