The Tsetse fly is a fly found in many parts of Africa, especially in Serengeti. They swarmed our trucks while on safari, and they have a painful bite. They are attracted to dark colors like blue and black, so we had to wear light colors. Insect repellent does not affect them. They carry African sleeping sickness, so the hotels all have flags that are blue and black with pesticides on them that sterilize the males so they can't reproduce.
