Jambo! (You know what that means). During our tour the first day, we went into town to explore the different variety of items and people in Tanzania. Soccer is big in Africa, as well as many other countries besides the US, so they were selling a lot of soccer jerseys and many people were fans. People have to walk a long way to get food and water, so they carry it on their head to make the trip easier. There are no lanes on the road, and people drive on the left side with the steering wheel on the right. Inside the markets, people were very pushy for you to buy things, but they respect tourists. They had so many things to buy like oil paintings and many different types of jewelry. Some people don't like you taking their pictures, and they might ask for money. In Tanzania, they use shillings as currency. However, they will take anything, once we even paid in euros. 2,200 shillings is worth 1 dollar. Tomorrow, we will take a trip to the Ngorongoro crater, visit the Maasai tribe, and stop at a school to visit kids and teachers there. You can expect to see pictures of animals in Africa around Thursday of Friday, but we might see a few random ones. I will try to post every night, but the internet is bad here so it may not be possible. You can ask me questions in the comment section below. Asante! (Thank you).
